Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
A short, common-sense set of rules that keep our network fast, safe and reliable for everyone who hosts with us.
1. Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) explains what you may and may not do when using SimplisticNode services. It exists to keep our network fast, secure and reliable for every customer. It forms part of our Terms of Service, and by using the Services you agree to it.
We apply this policy reasonably and proportionately, and we will normally contact you before taking action unless the situation is urgent.
2. Prohibited content & activity
You must not use the Services to host, transmit or link to:
- Anything illegal under applicable law, or that facilitates illegal activity
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), reported immediately to the authorities
- Content that infringes others' intellectual property or privacy rights
- Malware, viruses, exploits, or tools designed to gain unauthorised access
- Phishing, fraud, or content impersonating others to deceive
- Material that harasses, threatens, or incites violence or hatred
3. Network & resource abuse
Shared and reseller plans run on shared infrastructure. You must not use resources in a way that degrades service for others, including sustained excessive CPU, memory, I/O or process usage beyond your plan's fair-use allowance.
You must not launch, participate in, or knowingly facilitate denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks, port scanning, or any attempt to breach the security of any network or system, whether ours or a third party's.
4. Email & spam
Sending unsolicited bulk email (spam) is prohibited, whether sent from our network or referencing services hosted with us. You must comply with applicable anti-spam laws and maintain valid opt-in for any mailing lists.
We may rate-limit outbound mail and require the use of an approved relay to protect our IP reputation.
5. Game & application servers
You are responsible for the games, mods, plugins and applications you install, including their licences and any user-generated content. You must not host content or run services that breach a game publisher's terms or applicable law.
6. Reseller responsibilities
If you resell our Services, you are responsible for your clients' compliance with this AUP. You must have equivalent acceptable-use terms with your clients and act promptly on any abuse reports we pass to you.
7. Enforcement
Where we identify a breach, we may take action proportionate to the issue, from a request to resolve it, through to throttling, suspension, content removal, or termination in serious or repeated cases. We reserve the right to act immediately without notice where there is a risk to our network, other customers, or third parties, or where required by law.
8. Reporting abuse
If you believe someone is using our Services in breach of this policy, please report it to our team with as much detail as possible (URLs, IP addresses, timestamps). We investigate all genuine reports.
